Dr. Mark Hager

Dr. Mark Hager and his wife Cindy are former career Police Officers and Mark is the Director of Counseling at Timberlake Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Virginia. Dr. Hager was ordained in 2004 and has served as church planter, associate pastor, senior pastor, seminary professor/chair and has vast counseling experience in helping people and families for over 23 years. He has a B.A. and Master of Divinity degrees in Pastoral Ministry with the International Bible College and Seminary (1973-2009). Additionally, he holds a Doctorate of Practical Theology (Biblical Counseling) with Master’s International Divinity Graduate School and is currently completing his PhD in Biblical Counseling with Trinity Theological Seminary.
 
He has biblical counseling certifications with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC), the International Association of Biblical Counselors (IABC.net), and emeritus Vice-president of the American Academy of Biblical Counselors (AABC/ 2014-15). He is also a charter member of the Association of Biblical Counselors (ABC) and has written many counseling articles as has been published as “contributing author” with Harvest House Publishers in the book, “The Popular Encyclopedia of Apologetics.” The Hagers' philosophy of local church ministry and their team concept of biblical counseling has helped numerous families and individuals as they continue to faithfully counsel and evangelize the communities where they have lived and served. Dr. Hager & Cindy have 6 boys and 16 grandchildren.
