Biblical Counseling
Biblical counseling is committed to the position that Scripture provides the only authoritative guide for what we are to believe and how we are to live (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Our Biblical counselors are trained in the use of Scripture and the principles of Biblical counseling. We do not base our counsel on mans' wisdom, opinions, experience, or concepts of behavior (Isaiah 55:8-11), but seeks to bring the full range of Biblical truth to focus on the counselee's need (Hebrews 4:12). At Timberlake Biblical Counseling & Training Center, we emphasize the importance of change at the heart level. When a person comes to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, they are indwelt with the Holy Spirit who convicts of sins, and works with the revealing truth of Scripture to equip a person.
We believe that God's word contains all we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3-4). When the word of God is applied to the heart of man, we are transformed by the renewing of our minds and these internal changes result in life changes! These are not simply behavior modifications, but a complete transformation that brings glory to God.
Counseling topics include but are not limited to:
